Organizations we've supported

For teams trying to make sense of AI

Ready to Adopt AI and Don't Know Where to Start?

Most Nonprofits need to do more for less. Grant deadlines. Reporting requirements. Donor communications. Program delivery. Internal systems that do not always talk to each other. A growing number of AI tools and vendor pitches. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, a board or leadership team asking what the organization's AI strategy should be.

This workshop gives your team a practical place to start.

It is a focused planning engagement built around your organization, your workflows, your systems, and the decisions in front of you.

What the Workshop Produces

A Personalized AI Growth Roadmap for Your Nonprofit.

Before the first call, we review your organization's public materials, programs, operating model, and potential workflow opportunities. Then we use the working sessions to validate what matters, sharpen the assumptions, and identify the highest-value places to begin.

By the end, your team has a sequenced Roadmap, ROI estimates, and a recommended 90-day starter project. The goal is a plan your leadership team can actually use — in staff conversations, budget discussions, board meetings, and implementation planning.

Built Around Your Work

A Plan That Fits How Your Organization Actually Operates.

Generic AI frameworks don’t account for the specific way your team runs grants, communicates with donors, delivers programs, or manages internal knowledge.

The AI Capacity & Growth Workshop starts with your operational reality and builds a Roadmap around it.

ROI Categories

What Value Could AI Create for Your Organization?

For each Roadmap, we estimate opportunity across four practical categories:

Boost Revenue

Where AI may support fundraising, grants, donor engagement, or earned revenue.

Advance Mission

Where teams may be able to serve more people, move faster, or reduce delays.

Increase Capacity

Where manual work, repetitive tasks, or internal bottlenecks are consuming staff time.

Avoid Costs

Where better systems, automation, or internal knowledge access could reduce future expense.

What This Looked Like for One Nonprofit.

The Organization

A $6M youth services nonprofit came into the process with a few familiar challenges: a small grants team managing more than forty active proposals and renewals, program data spread across several systems, communications running behind schedule, and board pressure to develop an AI strategy before the next quarter.

The organization piloted the starter project the month after the second call.

Anonymized at the client's request. Full case study available under NDA.

$340K
Annual capacity recovery across grants, communications, and reporting
$180K
Potential revenue lift from a grant pipeline assistant
  • 90-day starter project launched the following month
  • Board-ready document presented at the next board meeting

Phase 1

Research & Workbook

We review your organization, programs, public materials, and operating context. Then we prepare a Discovery Workbook before the first call.
Phase 2

Discovery Call

A 60-minute working session with two leaders from your team. We walk through the Workbook, validate assumptions, and discuss the workflows with the most potential.
Phase 3

Roadmap Call

A 60-minute delivery session. We present the AI Growth Roadmap, review the ROI opportunities, and identify the strongest 90-day starter project.

Responsible AI Adoption

AI That Works for Your Mission, Not Against It.

The nonprofit sector has specific constraints, ethical obligations, and community relationships that commercial AI frameworks ignore.

Every recommendation in your Roadmap is sequenced to protect your organization’s credibility, data, and the people you serve.

Powered by TappIQ

Every workshop runs on TappIQ, Tapp's organizational intelligence framework. It gives us a consistent way to assess how your organization operates, score each functional area, and build a roadmap that is specific to where you are.

Built Around Your Organization

We map seven functional areas every nonprofit operates within before any recommendation gets made. Funding, communications, operations, technology, data, people, and programs. Nothing gets skipped.

You Leave With a Plan, Not a Report

Every workshop ends with three things: a maturity assessment showing where your organization stands today, a prioritized roadmap identifying where to focus first, and a specific pilot recommendation — one concrete place to start that shows value quickly and builds the foundation for everything that follows.

Backed by TechSoup

Through our TechSoup partnership, selected nonprofits receive access to the workshop at no cost as part of a funded initiative to help mission-driven organizations assess and adopt AI responsibly.
FAQs

Questions We Get a Lot.

Is there really no cost?
Yes. There is no cost to the ten qualified nonprofits selected each quarter. The full $5,000 engagement value is funded by Tapp Network through our TechSoup partnership.
What if our team does not have AI expertise?
That is common. The workshop is built for nonprofit leaders and operators. We keep the discussion focused on organizational decisions, workflow opportunities, and practical next steps.
What if our data is messy?
That is also common. Many nonprofits are working with siloed systems, inconsistent data, and incomplete documentation. The Roadmap helps identify what should be fixed before deciding what to build.
What if our board is cautious about AI?
The Roadmap is designed to support internal conversations. It makes the opportunities, assumptions, risks, and sequencing easier to discuss.
Who should join the calls?
Two leaders from your organization. Usually, the Executive Director, COO, operations lead, technology lead, or development lead. Three participants are the maximum.
How is our data handled?
We use only what you share with us and what is publicly available about your organization. We do not train models on your information. A mutual NDA is available on request.
What happens after I apply?
Your application is reviewed personally within three business days. You will receive an invitation to schedule, a request for clarification, or a referral to a better-suited resource.
