Offices we’ve supported

For teams trying to make sense of AI

Ready to Adopt AI and Don't Know Where to Start?

Most government agencies are expected to do more with less. Compliance requirements. Reporting obligations. Constituent communications. Program delivery across multiple departments. Internal systems that don't always connect. A growing number of AI tools and vendor pitches. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, leadership is asking what the agency's AI strategy should be.

This workshop gives your team a practical place to start.

It is a focused planning engagement built around your agency, your workflows, your existing systems, and the operational decisions in front of you.

What the Workshop Produces

A Personalized AI Readiness Roadmap for Your Government Agency.

Before the first call, we review your organization's public materials, programs, operating model, and potential workflow opportunities. Then we use the working sessions to validate what matters, sharpen the assumptions, and identify the highest-value places to begin.

By the end, your team has a sequenced Roadmap, ROI estimates, and a recommended 90-day starter project. The goal is a plan your leadership team can actually use — in staff conversations, budget discussions, board meetings, and implementation planning.

Built Around Your Work

A Plan That Fits How Your Organization Actually Operates.

Generic AI frameworks don’t account for the specific way your team runs grants, communicates with donors, delivers programs, or manages internal knowledge.

The AI Capacity & Growth Workshop starts with your operational reality and builds a Roadmap around it.

ROI Categories

What Value Could AI Create for Your Organization?

For each Roadmap, we estimate opportunity across four practical categories:

Reduce Operational Costs

Where better systems, automation, or internal knowledge access could reduce future expenses.

Increase Capacity

Where manual work, repetitive tasks, or internal bottlenecks are consuming staff time.

Advance Agency Mission

Where teams can serve more constituents, move faster, or reduce delays.

Improve Budget Performance

Where AI may support procurement efficiency, grant utilization, resource allocation, or service revenue.

What This Looked Like for One Government Agency.

The Organization

A state government service program came into the engagement with two pressing targets: reduce a significant complaint backlog before year-end and scale account enrollment to meet program demand. Within 90 days, the backlog was down 85 percent, and enrollment was tracking at more than half the annual goal.

The work started with a clear picture of where the systems were breaking down. From there, Tapp sequenced the right fixes in the right order before any automation or AI layer was introduced.

Anonymized at the client's request. Full details available under NDA.

Responsible AI Adoption

AI That Works for Your Mission, Not Against It.

AI That Works for Your Agency, Not Around It.

Government agencies operate under specific compliance requirements, public accountability standards, and constituent trust obligations that commercial AI frameworks rarely account for.

Every recommendation in your Roadmap is sequenced to protect your agency's credibility, data integrity, and the communities you serve.

You Leave With a Plan, Not a Report

Every workshop ends with three things: a maturity assessment showing where your organization stands today, a prioritized roadmap identifying where to focus first, and a specific pilot recommendation — one concrete place to start that shows value quickly and builds the foundation for everything that follows.

Built Around Your Agency

We map seven functional areas every government agency operates within before any recommendation gets made. Procurement, communications, operations, technology, data, people, and programs. Nothing gets skipped.

FAQs

Questions We Get a Lot.

Is there really no cost?
Yes. There is no cost to the ten qualified government agencies selected each quarter. The full $5,000 engagement value is available through the GSS contract with Tapp Network.
What if our team does not have AI expertise?
Most teams we work with are still figuring it out. The workshop is built for operational leaders and department heads. We translate.
What if our data is messy?
Most agencies we work with have messy data, siloed systems, and incomplete documentation. Part of the value of the Roadmap is sequencing what to fix before what to build.
What if our leadership pushes back on AI investment?
The Roadmap is built to be defended. Every recommendation is grounded in Tapp's AI Methodology, which maps your agency across a maturity scale from foundational operations through full AI readiness. Most agencies aren't ready for AI today, and the Roadmap shows exactly why that's fine. Leadership gets a clear picture of where you are, what to build first, and how to sequence the path forward responsibly.
Who should join the calls?
Two to three leaders. Typically, the agency director or deputy director, plus whoever oversees operations, IT, or program delivery. We work with the people who make decisions, not just those who attend meetings.
How is our data handled?
We only use what you share with us and what is publicly available about your agency. We do not train models on your information. A mutual NDA is available on request at any stage.
What happens after I apply?
Your application is personally reviewed within 3 business days. You will hear back directly, either with an invitation to schedule, a clarifying question, or a referral to a better-suited resource.
